Robert Luna Recuperating From Long Beach Pedestrian Accident
LONG BEACH, CA (February 7, 2021) – Friday afternoon, Police Chief Robert Luna sustained injuries in a pedestrian crash on East Spring Street.
According to Long Beach Police Department Public Information Officer Arantxa Chavarria, Long Beach Police Chief Robert Luna was struck by a truck.
The incident happened while the officer walked in a crosswalk on East Spring Street near the El Dorado Nature Center at around 3:45 p.m.
Afterward, responders transported Luna to an area hospital.
Also, the victim was knocked into the road, but was able to call and report the incident, Chavarria added.
The Long Beach Police Chief is expected to make full recovery.
