Female Driver Arrested After Crash on MacArthur Boulevard in Oakland

Oakland, CA (October 15, 2024) – A female driver was arrested in a crash on MacArthur Boulevard.

A Berkeley police officer sustained injuries during the pursuit of a stolen vehicle. 

The incident began around 1:39 p.m. when officers received a report of a stolen red Audi

Police located the car in a downtown Berkeley grocery store parking lot. As officers approached, the suspect sped away, hitting a police vehicle and nearly colliding with another patrol car that had an officer inside. 

The suspect then drove onto the sidewalk, narrowly avoiding several pedestrians.

The chase continued into Oakland, where the stolen vehicle crashed into two other cars at the intersection of MacArthur Boulevard and Calaveras Avenue.

Authorities arrested a woman driving the stolen car and a male passenger. Both were taken to a local hospital for medical evaluation after the crash.

A Berkeley police officer was also hospitalized due to a leg injury sustained during the incident.
