San Bernardino Car Crash on Victoria Avenue
SAN BERNARDINO, CA (March 3, 2020) – A police chase ended with a car crash on Victoria Avenue on March 1.
According to reports, a San Bernardino County sheriff’s deputy narrowly escaped injuries after losing control of a patrol vehicle.
The deputy crashed while on a chase.
The sequence of events began at around 8:00 p.m.
The deputy tried to stop a car near the intersection of East Baseline Street and Bobbett Drive, revealed Sheriff’s Department spokesperson Jodi Miller. However, the driver failed to stop, and the chase began.
The suspect’s car hit another car near the intersection of Victoria Avenue and West Fifth Street. Nevertheless, he fled the scene, Miller added.
When one of the deputies involved in the chase stopped at the scene, both the suspect vehicle and the victim’s vehicle had vacated the crash scene.
However, a cellphone video revealed that a second patrol vehicle at the back of the pursuit went airborne while driving through an intersection.
The deputy lost his control when his SUV landed and hit a parked pickup truck near West Fifth Street and Sunnyside Avenue.
No one sustained injuries in the crash.
Meanwhile, the suspect of the chase is still at large as of this time.
