Early Morning 2-Vehicle Wreck in Pleasant Grove Kills One
PLEASANT GROVE, CA (December 17, 2018) – One person was killed following a two-vehicle collision early Monday morning in Pleasant Grove.
The fatal collision happened around 12:15 a.m. on Highway 99 at West Riego Road off-ramp.
According to an initial report, a Volkswagen Passat and a pickup truck were involved for unknown reasons. While the cause of the crash has not yet been determined, one of the vehicles flipped over due to severe impact.
One of the drivers had passed out inside the vehicle, according to a witness.
CHP officers and firefighters responded to the scene to set up a traffic break and provide life-saving measures. Sadly, one patient did not survive and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Volkswagen sedan sustained major front-end damage, while the pickup truck had major side damage. Both vehicles were towed away from the wreckage.
It is unknown if drugs and/or alcohol have played a role in the crash. Authorities are piecing together exactly what occurred.
