Fatal Rollover Crash on Highway 49 in Placerville

 
PLACERVILLE, CA (February 2, 2019) – At least one person was killed following a rollover crash Saturday evening in Placerville.
 
The fatal crash happened around 8:26 p.m. on Highway 49 near Long Rut Road.
 
According to an initial dispatch, a sedan went off the roadway down into a right shoulder ditch, where it landed on its roof.
 
Firefighters responded to the scene and found at least one patient with major injuries. That person was airlifted to a hospital where the individual was declared dead.
 
The wrecked sedan was towed away for evidence.
 
Further details, including the identity of the victim, were not immediately available. An ongoing investigation continues to determine the ultimate cause of the crash and factors involved.
