1 Dead after Fiery Plane Accident near Brackett Field Airport
LA VERNE, CA (October 1, 2018) – A pilot was killed late Monday morning following a small plane crash on McKinley Avenue. The identity of the deceased victim was not immediately disclosed to the public, pending notification of next of kin.
According to officials with the La Verne Police Department, the incident happened at about 11:50 AM. A Beechcraft V35 Bonanza was approaching the runway when it crashed near Brackett Field Airport. The plane burst into flames as a result of the impact.
One person, the sole occupant of the plane, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported by the authorities.
The fatal crash is being investigated by the National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration. Additional information will be released to the public following the conclusion of the investigation.
