1 Dead and 1 Injured in Tucson Plane Accident at Ryan Airfield
TUCSON, AZ (July 28, 2021) – Tuesday morning, an 87-year-old pilot died in a plane crash at Ryan Airfield near RYN Runaway 6R.
The Tucson Airport Authority confirmed that the incident occurred at around 7:15 a.m. Moreover, it happened at Ryan Airfield near RYN Runaway 6R.
Reports confirmed that two people rode the Long-EZ aircraft. Meanwhile, the Tucson Airport Authority said that one person died in the crash. Meanwhile, the other person was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
The investigators determined that the deceased victim was an 87-year-old man who may have built the plane.
Meanwhile, the injured patient was a flight reviewer who was observing the 87-year-old pilot.
The aircraft was about to land when the incident happened. Officials added that the pilot came into the landing too slow. Then, the reviewer allegedly increased the speed too much and they crashed the plane.
The crash remains under active investigation.
