Pilot Injured after Small Plane Crashed in Davis Field
DAVIS, CA (April 15, 2019) – A pilot suffered injuries after his small plane crashed in a field south of the Davis airport on Saturday, April 13.
According to Sgt. Matt Davis of the Yolo County Sheriff’s Office, the incident happened just after 11 a.m.
It appeared that the pilot tried to take off from the Yolo County Airport, Davis said. He then tried to land in a field, and the plane ended up upside-down.
The pilot was the sole occupant, Davis said. His identity was not immediately available. No additional information about his condition or injuries was released.
Dispatchers said that the plane crashed in an empty field owned by UC Davis near County Road 95 and County Road 31.
The crash is under the investigation of the Federal Aviation Administration.
