PIERCE COUNTY, WA – Woman Injured in Truck Collision on Highway 161

20-Year-Old Rochester Woman Hospitalized after Accident near 187th Street

 
PIERCE COUNTY, WA (April 22, 2018) – A 20-year-old Rochester woman was injured in a collision on Highway 161 and hospitalized on Saturday morning.
 
According to the Washington State Patrol, the accident took place around 8:00 AM. The young woman was traveling northbound on State Highway 161 at 187th Street. At the same time, a tractor-trailer was heading south on Highway 161 at 187th in the center turn lane.
 
The Rochester woman crashed into the truck as the tractor-trailer turned right. According to the state patrol, the woman was not wearing her seatbelt at the time of the collision. She was taken to the MultiCare Good Samaritan Hospital in Puyallup for treatment and evaluation. There is no update on her current medical condition.
 
Authorities have not released further details about the incident at this time.
