House Damaged after Buckley Pickup Crash
BUCKLEY, WA (October 10, 2019) – Authorities are still looking for the pickup driver who crashed into a house on Sumner-Buckley Highway.
“Welcome to my home,” Betty Albert said while pointing at the wrecked house.
Albert believed that the truck came from the corner and hit the fence. After that, it drove across 100 yards of pastureland and rammed into another fence right into the house.
“I was scared to death,” Albert admitted. “Scared to death.”
“There are no brake marks. He had to be flying to make that divot and fly over that planter in a 5,000-pound truck,” John Albert said. “The only thing that stopped him was the car and the freezers,” John Albert, Betty Albert’s son said.
“I was sitting right in here,” Betty Albert said while showing the living room a few feet away. “If he had come here, you’d be to my funeral today.”
The Pierce County Sheriff’s Office suspected that the driver is the truck’s registered owner. In addition, the owner had numerous arrest warrants for other cases.
Authorities also found cell phones and a school district laptop. In addition, a small gun safe and other items found inside the truck.
“I hate that man, whoever he is,” Betty Albert added.
However, Albert’s house is insured and they think that the $50,000 truck is insured as well. However, they want to identify who drove it.
