2 Dead in Wise County Auto Accident on US 277 near Hubbard Street
WISE COUNTY, TX (October 18, 2024) – Saturday night, Phillip Pennartz and Tina Pennartz died in a head-on crash on US 277.
The incident happened at around 9:00 p.m. on US 277 near Hubbard Street.
According to reports, a northbound 2016 Hyundai Accent lost control on a curve, veered across the median, and collided head-on with a southbound 2020 Toyota Camry.
Moreover, responders pronounced two passengers of the Hyundai Accent, identified as 58-year-old Pennartz and 54-year-old Tina Pennartz, dead at the scene. Then, paramedics transported the driver of the Hyundai Accent, identified as 25-year-old Emily Pennartz, to Harris Methodist Hospital with critical injuries. Also, responders airlifted another passenger of the Hyundai, identified as 6-year-old Trace Pennartz, to Cook Children’s Medical Center with serious injuries.
Furthermore, authorities confirmed that the driver of the Toyota, identified as 36-year-old Bryan Rahm, was airlifted to Medical City Denton with serious injuries. Also, officers said that two passengers of the Toyota, 40-year-old Adam Brooks, and 38-year-old Carlton Sherman, were also airlifted to a hospital, both with serious injuries.
At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.
Due to limited information, the authorities continued investigating the crash.
