Phillip Luckert Struck and Killed by Big Rig on Highway 120

Keystone, CA (September 11, 2020) – On Saturday, 68-year-old Phillip Luckert of Modesto died in a motorcycle crash on Highway 120.

The fatal accident happened at about 11:50 a.m. west of Green Springs Road.

He was riding his 1999 Harley-Davidson when he pulled off the north shoulder to help another rider who was having trouble with his motorcycle.

The other rider got his motorcycle started and drove off. Then, Luckert traveled into an eastbound lane directly in front of a 2012 Kenworth big rig pulling a bulldozer on a flatbed trailer.

The big rig, driven by Erik Roen of Knight Ferry collided into the Harley.

Finally, both vehicles rested on the south shoulder of the highway.

Rescuers performed life-saving measures on Luckert. However, he still died at the scene.

Furthermore, authorities determined that Luckert was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. Alcohol or drugs were not suspected to be a factor.

Police continue to investigate the crash incident.

We at Sweet Lawyers extend our deepest condolences to the bereaved family and community of Phillip Luckert.
