Peter Edwin Bouton Killed in Horrific Vehicle Crash on FM 1788 [Lufkin, TX]

1 Dead in Lufkin Auto Accident on FM 1788

LUFKIN, TX (March 5, 2024) – Friday morning, Peter Edwin Bouton, 32, died in a horrific vehicle crash on FM 1788.

The incident happened when Bouton of Lufkin traveled southbound in a 2017 Toyota Corolla on FM 1788. Then, he drove across the northbound lane and hit a Dodge Ram 2500.

Due to the crash, Bouton sustained fatal injuries and was declared dead at the scene. Meanwhile, the driver of the other vehicle, 54-year-old Javier Luna of El Paso, was taken to Midland Memorial Hospital. Also, his passenger, 22-year-old Rogelio Herrera of Rio Grande City, was taken to Medical Center Hospital. Both of them suffered serious injuries.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
