Person Sustains Injuries in Hit-and-Run Crash on South 19th Street [Tacoma, WA]

Tacoma, WA (August 18, 2022) – On Sunday, a protest organizer sustained injuries in a hit-and-run crash on South 19th Street and Martin Luther King Junior Way.

According to the reports, protesters against gentrification in the Hilltop neighborhood were on the streets when a vehicle struck an organizer. Apparently, a person in the vehicle tried to drag the organizer by the arm as the car passed by. 

Sadly, the organizer incurred bruising and swelling due to the incident.

In the meantime, officers are investigating the accident. The Tacoma Police Department asks anyone with information about this incident to contact the police.
