Person Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash on E Seventh Street [Austin, TX]

Austin, TX (March 12, 2024) – A person sustained injuries following a hit-and-run crash on E Seventh Street early Tuesday morning.

The fatal collision happened around 1:10 a.m. on  Red River Street.

“Basically, at full speed and hit a guy in the crosswalk. Threw him in the air…maybe like…10 feet,” a witness said.

The driver fled the scene right after the accident and struck another person who was transported in critical condition.

APD officers closed East Seventh Street for some time but reopened shortly before 5 a.m.
