Ronald Gaither Involved in Fatal Crash in Ronhert Park
Ronhert Park, CA (July 06, 2021) – On Monday, 21-year-old male student of Sonoma State University in a crash on 1702 East Cotati Avenue involving 19-year-old Ronald Gaither of Penngrove.
The crash took place at about 12 P.M.
Reports said a black car struck a pedestrian crossing the street and then drove off.
Minutes later, the driver reported to the authorities that he was pulled over on Roman Drive and was involved in an accident.
When officers arrived, they found the victim dead in the eastbound lanes.
Meanwhile, Gaither, the driver of a 2015 Ford Fusion, was cooperative during the investigation.
Officers said the victim was not using a crosswalk during the crash. They said it appears that he stepped off the center median in front of the vehicle.
They also said Gaither was unable to stop to avoind the accident.
Immediately, rescuers took Gaither to a hospital for a medical evaluation.
The authorities said it does not appear that drugs or alcohol were a contributing factor.
