Oakland, CA (March 26, 2021) – On Wednesday, a person died in a pedestrian accident on Interstate Highway 580.
 
Officers responded to the crash scene at about 10:11 p.m. near the High Street off-ramp.
 
Apparently, the victim was walking on the highway and was struck by a car minutes later.
 
Meanwhile, officers closed the eastbound lanes and rerouted traffic to the High Street off-ramp.
 
They reopened all lanes by 11:57 p.m.
