APD Officer Injured in Austin Fatal Collision
Austin, TX (July 2, 2023) – At around 5:03 p.m. on Friday, a driver died and an APD officer was injured in an N US 183 Highway collision.
The authorities responded to a crash in the 13000 block area, into the northbound lanes. They said the collision involved an on-duty APD officer in a marked police unit and another driver.
Both vehicles incurred damage in the collision that resulted in serious injuries to the civilian driver. The medical team provided life-saving measures however, the driver was declared dead around 5:23 p.m.
The accident report said that the APD officer incurred injuries and was transported to a local hospital.
In the meantime, the APD Vehicular Homicide Unit will investigate this incident.
