Person Dies in Interstate 40 Hit-and-Run Crash [Wheeler County, TX]

Fatal Traffic Accident Near the Texas-Oklahoma State Line

Wheeler County, TX (March 4, 2023) – On Friday morning, a person sustained fatal injuries following an Interstate 40 hit-and-run crash.

The fatal traffic accident took place near the Texas-Oklahoma state line.

Texas Department of Public Safety Sgt. Cindy Barkley said a person had car trouble and pulled off the side of the westbound freeway.

Unfortunately, a vehicle struck the person and fled the scene. There is no available vehicle description.

In the meantime, the authorities are investigating the hit-and-run crash and they are looking for the suspect vehicle.
