Person Dies in Hit-and-Run Crash on Highway 2 [Newport, WA]

Newport, WA (January 18, 2022) – On Monday, a person died in a hit-and-run crash on Highway 2.

The fatal collision took place at around 6:45 p.m. in Pend Oreille County.

Responding officers confirmed that a person was struck and killed by an unknown driver who immediately fled the scene after the incident.

The authorities are investigating the crash and they did not release a description of the involved vehicle.
