Chico Fatal Collision Results in Injury
Chico, CA (June 7, 2023) – Just before 9:45 p.m. on Tuesday, a person died and another sustained injuries following an East Avenue 2-car crash.
Responders from the Chico Police Department, California Highway Patrol, Butte County Sheriff’s Office, Cal Fire-Butte County, and Chico Fire Department arrived at the crash site in the area of Cohasset Road.
Firefighters had cut the roof of one of the involved vehicles in order to rescue the occupant who was transported by ambulance to Enloe Medical Center. Officers said that car was about 100 feet west of the intersection on East Avenue.
Unfortunately, the occupant of the other car rested at the intersection and facing east. The authorities declared the occupant dead at the scene. Officers said the person laid on the pavement and was covered by a white sheet.

What to in Case of a Wrongful Death
While the loss of a dear one is irreversible, it is in the best interest of your family to know how to move forward.
Subsequently, it is important to recognize that if your family loses a member in an accident, you may still achieve some semblance of justice. To do so, you must file a wrongful death suit.
A wrongful death claim allows family members to obtain vindication for their dearly departed. Also, it is a step towards recovering from tragedy.
“I think the misconception is that when a loved one passes away, the insurance company will automatically admit liability and offer all of the funds available. Insurance companies will try to save money, even if it means not fully compensating for the death of a loved one. When a family retains an attorney immediately, it gives them time to grieve their loss. Meanwhile, their attorney can start focusing on holding the negligent party accountable,” says Tyler Toomey, an attorney at Sweet Lawyers.
