36-Year-Old Mead Valley Resident Struck and Killed by Car on E San Jacinto and Wilson Avenues
PERRIS, CA (February 4, 2018) – On Sunday evening around 5:07 PM, a pedestrian was struck and killed by a car, in the area of E San Jacinto Avenue and Wilson Avenue.
According to reports, the driver was traveling eastbound on E San Jacinto Ave, when a 36-year-old pedestrian unexpectedly ran up to the car and grabbed the drivers passenger mirror. The driver became frightened and drove off, running over the victim in the process.
Officers from the Perris PD and Cal Fire personnel responded to the scene of the crash. The victim had sustained major injuries and was lying on the road. Despite life saving efforts, the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
Both directions of E San Jacinto Ave were closed for several hours while officials investigated.
