Three Killed, Three Injured in Crash on Shields Road
Wapato, WA (August 05, 2021) – On Thursday, three people died and three others suffered injuries in a solo vehicle crash on Shields Road.
The authorities received the crash report at 10:06 a.m.
They said a postal carrier saw the wreck on the on the 3700 block area, near Progressive Road.
Investigating officers say all the victims were ranging from 16-18 years old.
Three of of the vehicle occupants were riding in the open bed of the pick-up.
Furthermore, officers say the young victims were working at a local farm and was on their way for lunch. They were southbound on Shields Road towards Progressive Road when the driver assaulted a hill and lost control of the pick-up.
Responding officers pronounced three of the victims dead on the scene, while they rushed other three to a hospital.
Authorities consider excessive speed is as the factor in this accident.
Meanwhile, the Yakima County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Unit with assistance from Washington State patrol, investigates the fatal crash on Shields Road.
