Pierce Transit Bus Crash on Pacific Avenue Sends People to Hospital

Tacoma, WA (September 7, 2022) – On Tuesday morning, people sustained injuries in a suspected DUI crash on South 38th Street.

It was past 7:30 a.m. when the collision involving a Pierce Transit bus happened at the intersection with Pacific Avenue.

According to the authorities who responded to the scene, a man was driving an eastbound SUV on 38th Street. He turned right to Pacific Avenue and crashed with the back tire of the bus.

Immediately, the paramedics rushed the SUV’s male driver, and it’s two passenger, a woman, and a child, to a local hospital. 

Reports say the woman incurred serious but non-fatal injuries.

Moreover, the bus has 13 passengers during the crash, a few of them sustained minor injuries.

An investigation on the Pierce Transit bus crash is ongoing. The Tacoma Police say they suspect the SUV driver of impairment while driving.
