Wrong-Way Crash in Kelso Kills One
Kelso, WA (July 07, 2021) – On Sunday, people were injured in Interstate 5 fatal wrong-way crash.
The fatal accident happened minutes after 3 A.M.
Apparently, a southbound car was in the northbound lane of the freeway.
As a result, the Chevy Equinox crashed with a Ram pickup near mile post 34. The truck rolled over and rested on the right shoulder.
Just then, a third vehicle, a Ford truck, struck the debris from the wreck.
Unfortunately, the wrong-way driver, 25-year-old from Siletz, OR, died at the scene. Officers said the driver was not wearing a seatbelt during the incident.
Moreover, a 27-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman from Hillsboro in the third car suffered injuries and were taken to PeaceHealth St. John Medical Center.
Similarly, a 32-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman from Longview in the second vehicle, incurred injuries and were taken to PeaceHealth St. John Medical Center.
The authorities said the Longview and Hillsboro victims were wearing seatbelts during the crash.
Meanwhile, it is unknown if drugs or alcohol were involved in this accident.
