People Injured in Hit-and-Run Crash on Canyon Road East [Puyallup, WA]

Pierce County, WA (September 10, 2021) –  On Saturday, people were injured in a hit-and-run crash on Canyon Road East.

The incident took place at about 12:30 p.m., at the 12300 block area.

Officers said a pastor reported to 911 that someone driving a dark pickup had stolen his trailer from the church parking lot .

However, as the driver was pulling out of the lot, they struck a carport in which a part of the trailer was stuck. 

A witness saw the truck driving away and followed it.

The suspect drove the truck and trailer westbound and a few minutes later ran a red light at Vickery Avenue East. 

The truck collided into the driver’s side of a Honda CRV. Then,  the truck’s driver and passenger fled after the crash.

Responding officers freed the Honda’s driver from the wreckage. Both he and the Honda’s passenger were rushed to the hospital with serious injuries.

Later on, the truck’s passenger returned to the scene, and was taken to a hospital with serious injuries. 

Meanwhile, the authorities asks people with details about this crash to call Crime Stoppers at 800-222-TIPS.

Additionally, officers said that the suspect’s truck did not have license plates and its ignition was damaged. While the trailer still had part of the carport stuck to it.
