38-Year-Old Cathedral City Man Dies after Head-On Crash near Two Bunch Palms Trail
DESERT HOT SPRINGS, CA (September 23, 2018) – A man was killed Sunday evening following a two-vehicle crash on Miracle Hill Road. The victim was later identified as 38-year-old Pedro Garcia De Garcia of Cathedral City.
According to the Riverside County Fire Department, the collision took place shortly before 9:00 PM near the intersection of Miracle Hill Road and Two Bunch Palms Trail. The victim crossed the center divider in an attempt to pass a driver that was making a turn. There, his vehicle collided head-on with another car.
Garcia De Garcia sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders. His passengers, a 5-year-old and a 10-year-old, were hospitalized with minor injuries. Meanwhile, the driver of the other vehicle was also hospitalized after suffering moderate injuries. Updates on their current medical conditions were not immediately available.
An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the crash and to identify possible contributing factors. Additional information will be released once it is available.
