Two Hospitalized after Car Rolls and Strikes a Pole near Kersey
GREELEY, CO (March 16, 2018) – A car rolled and struck a pole near Kersey, leaving two people injured, on Friday morning.
The incident happened around 10:53 AM near Weld County 53 and 58 Roads. A vehicle rolled and hit an Xcel power pole. The driver, 51-year-old Pedro Flores, and the passenger, 52-year-old Laticia Robledo-Demota, were rushed to the North Colorado Medical Center. Flores received minor injuries while Robledo-Demota sustained severe injuries.
There is no update on their current condition.
The traffic on Weld Road 53 was diverted to Road 60 1/2 and US 34. It took the officials around three hours to clean the wreckage from the scene. Multiple residents were affected by power outages following the collision. Re-routing solved the problem; however, a pole replacement will result in a forced outage for some individuals.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation. No additional information is available at the time.
