Man Hospitalized after Struck by Pickup Truck near Mann Avenue

UNION CITY, CA (September 7, 2018) – A pedestrian was seriously injured Friday morning, after a crash on Alvarado-Niles Road. The identity of the victim was not immediately shared with the public.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision took place at approximately 6:05 AM between Mann Avenue and Decoto Road.

Reports showed that the victim was walking in a lit area when he was struck by a pickup truck. Medics arrived at the scene to find the conscious but seriously injured, victim. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries. There is no update on his current medical condition.

The driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with during their investigation. Police continue to investigate the incident at this time, and are unsure of what factors contributed to the collision. They are looking for witnesses with additional information, and urge them to contact Officer Joshua Vasicek by calling (510) 675-5222.
