1 Dead in Victorville Train Accident
VICTORVILLE, CA (February 20, 2019) – A pedestrian was killed after being hit by a train on February 18 in Victorville.
According to reports, it was around 8:30 p.m. when the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway reported that a pedestrian strolling on the tracks might have been hit by one of their freight trains.
When the first responders came, they searched the area of D Street, and they found the pedestrian at the cement plant. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, both directions of train traffic were closed to give way for the investigation.
Train traffic in both directions was shut down for the investigation. The BNSF engine that struck the victim was heading into Victorville when the accident occurred.
The coroner was also dispatched to the area. The victim’s identity was not released as of this time.
The collision is being investigated by the BNSF Police.
