Pedestrian Struck and Killed by Train on 17th Street [Lincoln, CA]

Man Fatally Injured in Pedestrian Collision near Lincoln Avenue

LINCOLN, CA (September 3, 2018) – A pedestrian was struck and killed by a train on 17th Street, late Monday evening.

According to reports from the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at approximately 11:53 PM near Lincoln Avenue.

Santa Ana Police Sgt. Gutierrez said that the pedestrian was struck by a freight train. The unidentified man sustained critical injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by responding officials. His identity and place of residence were withheld, pending notification of next of kin.

It was not yet clear if it was an accident or a suicide attempt. The authorities continue to investigate the fatal incident, and no additional details have been disclosed to the public at this time.
