Fatal Train and Pedestrian Crash near Soledad Canyon Road
SANTA CLARITA, CA (August 8, 2019) – A Metrolink train struck and killed a pedestrian near Soledad Canyon Road late Thursday night.
Police did not release the identity of the victim at this time.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened near Rainbow Glen Drive at approximately 10:50 PM. Based on an initial report, the victim who was walking outside a crosswalk was struck by AV Line 227.
An attending coroner declared the victim dead on the scene.
The train to Lancaster carrying about 100 passengers stopped between Santa Clarita & Via Princessa due to the fatal accident. No other injuries were reported.
Police did not release any other information regarding the crash at this time.
