1 Hurt in Bakersfield Pedestrian Accident
BAKERSFIELD, CA (June 17, 2019) – A male pedestrian sustained injuries Thursday night after he was struck by a vehicle on Chester Avenue.
Authorities arrived to the area near 10th Street around 9:40 p.m.
Officers reported that a northbound vehicle struck a male pedestrian on Chester Avenue. According to reports, the man was not in a marked crosswalk at the time.
He was later brought to a nearby hospital for further treatment. However, there has been no update on his current condition.
Furthermore, police also revealed that the driver of the vehicle stopped and cooperated with officials following the collision.
Moreover, the surrounding area was also closed off for a brief time while crews worked to clear the wreckage. However, the roadway has since reopened.
Authorities are currently looking into the possibility of alcohol, drugs or speed as potential factors. The investigation still remains ongoing at this time.
