Hit-and-Run Driver Wanted after Pedestrian Collision near East 43rd Place
LOS ANGELES, CA (September 29, 2018) – A man was severely injured following a hit-and-run crash on South Central Avenue, late Saturday afternoon. The identity of the 35-year-old victim was not immediately released.
As per reports, the incident took place at about 4:45 PM near East 43rd Place. The pedestrian was crossing the street inside of a designated crosswalk on a green light when he was struck by a vehicle. After the collision, the driver fled the scene, leaving the injured man in the road.
The victim suffered severe injuries and was transported to a local hospital, where he was treated and released the next day.
Police officials continue to search for the hit-and-run driver and the vehicle involved. Authorities described the driver to be a man between the ages of 30 and 40, and his car as a late model gray Toyota 4-Runner or Sequoia, possibly with front-end damage. Anyone with information about the incident or the whereabouts of the driver is asked to call the Central Traffic Division at (213) 833-3713. No other information has been disclosed to the public, as an investigation is ongoing.
