Jeep Hits Pedestrian on Highway 101 in Smith River
SMITH RIVER, CA (October 10, 2019) – A pedestrian was seriously injured after being hit by a car Thursday evening in Smith River.
The incident happened around 7:36 p.m. along the southbound lanes of Highway 101 at North Indian Road.
According to an initial report, a Jeep Grand Cherokee struck the pedestrian at the intersection. Paramedics responded to the scene and found the victim lying on the roadway with major injuries.
The badly injured patient was rushed to a hospital in an unknown condition.
Officials closed the southbound lanes of Highway 101 while they conducted their investigation.
