One Struck and Killed by Train in Fairfield
FAIRFIELD, CA (April 4, 2019) – A pedestrian died following a train collision in Fairfield on Wednesday afternoon, April 3.
According to Amtrak spokeswoman Beth Toll, the Amtrak Capitol Corridor train No. 543 struck a pedestrian while going to San Jose from Sacramento at 4:25 p.m. The man died at the scene.
Solano County sheriff’s spokesman Deputy Daniel Pratt stated that the crash occurred near Cordelia Road and Orehr Road.
None of the 175 people on the train sustained injuries, according to Toll. They transferred the passengers to another train to get to San Jose while Amtrak police and other law enforcement investigate the incident.
