Man Fatally Struck by Metrolink Train near Francisquito Avenue

 
BALDWIN PARK, CA (December 8, 2018) – A man was killed Saturday evening following a train accident near Merced Avenue and Francisquito Avenue. The identity of the victim is being withheld, pending notification of next of kin.
 
According to the Baldwin Park Police Department, the incident happened at about 7:34 PM. A Metrolink train operator saw a pedestrian standing on the tracks and immediately sounded the train’s horn. However, the man did not move out of the way and was struck by the westbound train.
 
The victim, described as a man in his 50s, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders. No other injuries were reported by the authorities.
 
An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the fatal collision and to identify possible contributing factors. Anyone who may have witnessed the incident is asked to contact the authorities as soon as possible. Additional information will be released once it becomes available.
