Pedestrian Struck and Killed by Truck in Newhall Area
Newhall, CA (September 18, 2024) On Sunday evening, a pedestrian was killed in a tragic traffic collision on Sierra Highway.
According to the CHP and L.A. County Fire Department, personnel responded to a collision involving a pedestrian on the southbound side of Sierra Highway, just south of Quinn Drive, at approximately 8:49 p.m.
Reports say that a gray 2015 Toyota Tacoma was traveling southbound in the No. 2 lane when an unidentified Hispanic male, walking against the flow of traffic, was struck by the front of the truck.
First responders transported the pedestrian to Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. The driver of the truck did not sustain any injuries. Authorities noted that alcohol and drugs are not suspected factors in the crash.
The investigation regarding the traffic collision on Sierra Highway is ongoing, and witnesses are encouraged to contact the CHP Newhall area office at 661-600-1600.
