Chula Vista, CA (May 14, 2021) – Friday early morning, a 48-year-old man from Fountain Valley died after being struck by a vehicle on Interstate 5.
The Chula Vista fatal crash happened at around 3:30 a.m on May 14.
According to CHP reports, the man appeared to have been walking along north I-5 near east state Route 54 at around 3:30 a.m. when struck by a passing driver.
The pedestrian sustained fatal injuries. The driver then remained at the scene and cooperated with the officers.
At this time, investigators are conducting toxicology reports for the pedestrian to determine if he may have been under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
