Suspected DUI Crash on 24th Street Led to Fatality
(July 5, 2024) On Thursday evening, a man died in the horrific Oak Street accident.
According to the Bakersfield Police Department, the suspected DUI crash happened around 8:39 p.m. on Oak Street and 24th Street.
Reports say that a northbound vehicle failed to make a turn onto 24th Street collided with a man in the center divider and crashed into 4 other cars.
Police pronounced the man dead at the scene, while another driver was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
Meanwhile, police arrested the causing driver for driving under the influence, the man was booked into the Kern County Jail.
