Woman Dies after Hit-and-Run Crash at South King Road and Lido Way
SAN JOSE, CA (September 22, 2019) – A pedestrian lost her life in a hit-and-run crash on South King Road, Sunday evening. Authorities withheld the identity of the victim, pending notification of next of kin.
According to the San Jose Police Department, the incident happened at about 7:44 PM. The victim attempted to cross in a marked crosswalk when a southbound vehicle hit her near Lido Way.
Emergency responders pronounced the victim dead at the scene. Meanwhile, the driver of the vehicle did not stop to render aid and fled the area.
Police described the suspect as a man with a buzz cut and a mustache. His vehicle was a dark blue or green possibly early 2000s model Ford Ranger with an extended cab truck. Anyone with information can call SJPD Traffic Investigations Unit at (408) 277-4654.
