Fatal Pedestrian Crash on 880 Freeway in Oakland

 
OAKLAND, CA (October 12, 2019) – A pedestrian died in a hit-and-run crash late Saturday evening in Oakland.
 
The fatal crash happened just before 10:00 p.m. on southbound 880 Freeway near 98th Avenue off-ramp.
 
According to an initial report by the CHP, a pickup truck hit the pedestrian and continued without rendering aid to the victim.
 
The pedestrian suffered major injuries and arriving paramedics tried to revive the individual. Sadly, the unidentified victim did not survive and died at the scene.
 
All freeway lanes were closed for about 30 minutes while officials conducted their investigation.
