Fatal Pedestrian Hit-and-Run Crash on Vivian Road in Modesto
MODESTO, CA (July 23, 2019) – A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run crash Tuesday evening in Modesto, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash happened around 9:46 p.m., at the intersection of Vivian Road and West Hackett Road. First responders arrived to the area shortly after.
CHP officials responded to the scene and located a body lying on the roadway. The pedestrian appeared to have been struck by multiple vehicles. However, no responsible motorists were found on site.
The victim, whose identity has not yet been released, was pronounced dead at the scene as a result of the impact.
At this time, CHP officials are still conducting their investigation and are looking for the motorists involved in the crash.

The surrounding area was closed off for a brief time while crews worked to clear the wreckage. However, the roadway has since reopened.
