Pedestrian Killed in Boulevard Park Train Collision [Bellingham, WA]

Man Dies after Train Collision at Boulevard Park Road Crossing in Bellingham

 
BELLINGHAM, WA (August 31, 2019) – A pedestrian lost his life in a train collision near Boulevard Park, early Saturday morning.
 
According to the Burlington Northern Santa Fe, the incident happened at about 4:30 AM. Due to unknown reasons, a middle-aged man was on the railroad tracks at the road crossing. There, a train traveling from Canada back into Washington struck the pedestrian.
 
Unfortunately, the pedestrian died at the scene. Authorities withheld the identity of the victim, pending notification of next of kin.
 
Officers continue to investigate the cause of the fatal incident. Authorities will release additional information once it becomes available.
