Man Fatally Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver near North Polk Avenue
FRESNO, CA (September 22, 2018) – A man was killed Saturday morning following a hit-and-run crash on West Olive Avenue. The identity of the victim was not immediately released to the public, pending notification of next of kin.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident took place at about 6:38 AM near North Polk Avenue. Officers arrived at the scene and found the victim, described as a man in his 20s, unresponsive.
The man later succumbed to his fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Fresno Fire Captain. Meanwhile, the driver that hit the victim did not stop to render aid and fled the site.
An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the fatal crash and to identify possible contributing factors.
