Pedestrian Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash on West Childs Avenue [Merced, CA]

Man Fatally Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver near South P Street

MERCED, CA (October 19, 2018) – A man was killed Friday evening following a hit-and-run crash on West Childs Avenue. The identity of the victim is being withheld, pending notification of next of kin.

As per reports, the incident took place at about 8:50 PM in the 900 block of West Childs Avenue near South P Street. Paramedics arrived at the scene and found a man in the roadway suffering from major injuries. Events leading up to the collision were not immediately available.

Despite life-saving efforts, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead by emergency responders. Meanwhile, the driver of the vehicle did not stop to render aid and immediately fled the area.
