Man Fatally Struck by Vehicle near West 14th Street

 
LONG BEACH, CA (July 27, 2018) – A man lost his life Friday evening following a hit-and-run crash on Pacific Avenue near West 14th Street.
 
According to the Long Beach police, the collision happened at about 9:40 PM in the 1400 block of Pacific Avenue. The victim was crossing the street when he was struck by a vehicle.
 
The Long Beach Fire Department rendered aid to the injured pedestrian before he was transported to a nearby hospital. Unfortunately, the man succumbed to his injuries and he was pronounced dead by medical staff. His identity and city of residence were not immediately available.
 
Meanwhile, the driver of the vehicle involved fled the scene. Due to suspicious circumstances, the incident is being investigated as an intentional act. Witnesses also claimed that the driver appeared to be under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol.
