Pedestrian Dead after Richmond Hit-and-Run Crash on Barrett Avenue
RICHMOND, CA (April 21, 2019) – A pedestrian died after a hit-and-run vehicle struck him while he crossed the street on Friday, April 19.
At around 12:35 a.m., a truck hit the pedestrian while moving eastbound on Barrett Avenue near 21st Street. Then the driver continued moving and did not stop to help, Richmond police Lt. Matthew Stonebraker stated.
The County Coroner’s Office said that the victim’s identity was not yet released until next of kin is notified.
Police said that they have no information on the truck involved in the fatal accident.
RPD’s traffic unit is investigating the hit-and-run, according to Stonebraker.
