1 Dead in San Jose Pedestrian Accident on Old Bayshore Highway
SAN JOSE, CA (September 3, 2020) – Early Tuesday morning, a pedestrian died in a hit-and-run crash on Old Bayshore Highway.
The incident occurred at around 6:25 a.m. on the Old Bayshore Highway on-ramp to southbound 880 Freeway. According to CHP Officer Ross Lee, the male victim in his 50s was struck by two vehicles.
Lee also added that the driver of the first car failed to stop. Meanwhile, the driver of the second vehicle stayed at the scene.
Upon the arrival of the authorities, they declared the pedestrian dead at the scene. Meanwhile, after notifying the family, the victim’s identity will be released by the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office.
The incident shut down the left lane of the Old Bayshore Highway on-ramp to southbound 880 Freeway. Moreover, authorities also shut down the left lane of the 880 Freeway off-ramp to Old Bayshore Highway for around an hour and a half for an investigation.
