Ridgecrest Man Dies in Highway 395 Hit-And-Run Crash in Chilcoot
Chilcoot, CA (November 4, 2021) – CHP is still seeking the driver of a hit-and-run crash on Highway 395 that resulted in the death of a 25-year-old male pedestrian.
The fatal crash happened at around 5:40 a.m. on October 30 just south of Highway 70.
Reportedly, the CHP, along with the Washoe County Sheriff and the Nevada Highway Patrol, responded to the report of a pedestrian walking in the roadway on southbound Highway 395, just south of Highway 70.
Shortly after, units were advised that the pedestrian was hit by an unknown vehicle. Officers then found the man from Ridgecrest, California, down in the roadway.
Investigators concluded that an unknown vehicle, possibly an SUV, hit the man and then continued southbound on the highway.
